I’m interested in this Scion FRS for sale obscenely below book value. I k
now it is rough (with a bad hit to the quarter panel, and aw
ful wheels), but I want to know if it is basically solid mechanically/rust/etc. wise before I plunk down any cash.
The plan is to just have dumb fun with it, but I don’t want to buy something that is ready to blow up. Modifying is more what I want vs c onstant repairs.

Don’t go up that way much anymore, don’t miss it either... That being said, NC dealer tag means it might not be totally rusty.
It’s not a hideous drive, probably 4.5-5ish hours from where you are in RI. Just go to Pat’s Pizza if the car is garbage and call it good.

There’s a good YouTube channel called EatSleepDrive. He has a higher mileage BRZ or FRS that is not great cosmetically. He loves that he doesn’t have to worry about it.

Sold in Jacksonville, NC. Home the 2nd Marine Division. I suspect a history of being run hard and put up wet by a young Marine with a paycheck and no common sense. The Carfax (at the linked website) indicates it was registered in Maine and then still serviced in NC for a couple years before going back to Maine. (Yup a military car).
